Paintings of the Week

"White Puppy" is the subject of the kids class this week. We will be exploring the use of a different color palette. Colors used are Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue and Cad. Yellow Med. Class is on Wed. at 4PM. Registration is required in the store or at Michaels.com Kids ages 7-14 are welcome to attend.

 

In our beginners' Class this week we will paint "Sunflowers" using Titanium White, Cad. Yellow Med., Cad. Yellow Light, Cad. Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, and Hooker's Green. Class is on Wed. beginning at 1:30PM at Michaels in Katy. Ages 15+ are welcome. Registration is required either at the store or at Michaels.com.

Paintings of the Week

 

This week in the Beginners Acrylic class, we will paint this puppy. It is a child's painting perfect for your child's or grandchild's room. Please bring Yellow Ochre paint and these additional colors, Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Cad. Red Light, Cad. Yellow Medium, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber. Bring a pencil! Drawing basic shapes. This week in the kids painting class, ages 7-14, we will paint "Hot Air Balloons". This is a painting where kids can get creative and make their own design. Last week we painted a butterfly and had a great time creating our unique butterfly designs. Colors used are Titanium white, Ultramarine Blue, Cad. Red Light., Cad. Yellow Medium, Thalo Blue and Alizarin Crimson. Please bring a pencil and a straightedge if you have one. Wed. July 23, 4PM. Please register either at Michael's in Katy or at michaels.com

Colors used are Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue, Cad. Yellow Med., Cad. Red Light, and Alizarin Crimson. "Puppy 1" is the name of this nice little painting we will be making in the kids class on Wed. at 4Pm at Michael's in Katy. All kids ages 7-14 are welcome to attend. Younger children should be accompanied by an older sibling or adult. Kits are available in the store which include two paint brushes, 4 tubes of paint, a palette knife, and two canvas boards. Addition materials needed are

Alizarin Crimson and Thalo Blue paint, a plastic cup and a paper plate. Wear old clothes. You must now register at least 24 hours before class either online at michaels.com or at the register at the front of the store.

This week we will be painting "Not Apples" in our beginners class. This is a fun little poke at traditional still life. Colors used are Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White, Cad. Yellow Med., Cad. Red Light, Raw Umber, and Burnt Sienna. Class starts at 1:30PM on Wednesday at Michael's in Katy.

 

In the kids class this week we will be painting a beach scene similar to this one "Sand Dunes".  Colors used are Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Titanium White, Cad. Yellow Med., Cad. Yellow Light, Cad. Red Light, and Alizarin Crimson. Class begins at 4PM on Wed.
